Why Liberty profile is the best Java runtime for the cloud (reblog)

Alex Mulholland has posted an article describing how WAS Liberty Profile can be run in PaaS offerings, such as BlueMix, CloudFoundry, OpenShift, Heroku, and why it is a good choice to run your Java applications on IaaS, such as SoftLayer, Amazon EC2 and others. Read her article on wasdev.net site.

And while you are at it, you may want to check out the latest Liberty beta or sign up for the free account on IBM BlueMix where you can build and run your application for free! The caveat that free tier gives you about 1 GB of RAM per day (enough to run several Liberty instances) and only 4 free connected services out of 50 provided by BlueMix.
